Mention the 1999 Cricket World Cup to any South African and he’s likely to babble on maniacally about Alan Donald. “Just run Allan! Run!”.
Of course, the Rugby World Cup has its own special place in the hearts of South Africans. Clint Eastwood was moved to create a film surrounding the Springboks historic triumph in 1995, while the team of 2007 is regarded as one of the finest the country has produced.
