VFS Appeals - South African Immigration advice from Le Roux Attorneys

VFS centres closing for the festive season

In an unprecedented move, VFS South Africa has announced that its visa application centres will be closed from 19 December 2014 to 5 January 2015.  The closure will affect thousands of expiring-visa holders who will not be able to renew visas during this time.

What is VFS South Africa

VFS South Africa, part of the VFS Global Group which operates in 118 countries, was given the exclusive mandate to receive visa applications on behalf of the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) with effect from June 2014.  In the past, the DHA remained open throughout the festive season.

During the festive season

Foreign missions abroad will maintain normal business hours during the festive season, public holidays excepted. Foreign nationals whose visas will expire before 5 January are urged to submit visa renewal applications as soon as possible.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]

  1. Unfortunately all VFS centres throughout the country will close their doors on the 19th December 2014. VFS has indicated that should you need to make a submission before the 19th December 2014, they will accept walk in submissions (without pre-booked appointment). Alternatively you may book a new appointment for the soonest available date after VFS re-opens.
