Professional Profile
Willem represents clients in commercial disputes, commercial transactions and South African immigration law.
He is experienced in the ports sector, having dealt extensively with terminal operator licences, leases, public procurement and tenders in the port space.
He advises clients in relation to:
Commercial Law:
The National Ports Act;
Port-related agreements, disagreements, licensing and procurement;
Drafting various commercial agreements including leases, agreements of sale, commercial terms and conditions, non-disclosures & non-solicitation, cessions (in securitatum debiti, of claims, of income stream, of facility loans), joint ventures, sale of business, sale of assets, sale of shares & sale of member’s interest, shareholder agreements, suretyships, acknowledgements of debt, settlement agreements, loan agreements, manufacturing agreements, IT services agreements and licensing agreements.
Litigation:
Bringing & defending actions, opposed and unopposed applications in the High & Magistrate’s Courts, with a specific focus on commercial litigation, the National Ports Act, evictions under PIE & ESTA, and labour law.
Immigration Law:
High Court Litigation (including applications to compel, class actions, High Court reviews);
Immigration audits to advise employers on the legality of their employees;
Applications for temporary residence visas;
Internal appeals, in terms of section 8(4), of temporary residence visa applications;
Internal appeals, in terms of section 8(6), of temporary residence visa applications;
Applications for permanent residence permits;
Internal appeals, in terms of section 8(4), of permanent residence permit applications;
Internal appeals, in terms of section 8(6), of permanent residence permit applications;
Applications for authorisation to remain in South Africa in terms of section 32(1);
Internal appeals, in terms of section 8 of the Immigration Act, of applications for authorisation to remain in South Africa in terms of section 32(1);
Applications for extensions of periods of absence from South Africa in terms of section 28(c);
Declarations that a person is not prohibited in terms of section 29(2);
Applications for waivers of declarations of undesirability in terms of section 30(2) of where the ban has not lapsed;
Applications for waivers of declarations of undesirability in terms of section 30(2) of where the ban has lapsed; and
Regulatory exemption applications in terms of section 31(2)(c).
- Background
Willem attended Netscope IT Training college in 2001, where he obtained various qualifications in software development, web development, network architecture and design.
He worked in financial services in London before returning to South Africa in 2004 to obtain degrees in commerce and law from Stellenbosch University in 2007 and 2009.
At university, he was chairman of the Law Students’ Society, a member of the Law Faculty Council, chairman of the Students’ Representative Council and a member of the University Council.
In 2008, Willem had an audience with the Dalai Lama at his residence in India and in 2009 he became an alumnus of the “Brightest Young Minds” initiative.
Willem was admitted as an attorney in 2011.
In 2012, he started the immigration division at Ashman Attorneys, the firm where he became a partner in 2013.
In 2014, he left Ashman Attorneys to found Le Roux Attorneys Inc.
In his spare time he enjoys wildlife photography and cycling.

Ayesha studied Anthropology, Sociology and Psychology at the University of the Western Cape and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009. In 2010, Ayesha joined a well-known Cape Town-based immigration company as a consultant, where she advised clients on various aspects of South African immigration.
Ayesha’s attention to detail, professional approach and enthusiasm caused her to quickly rise through the ranks and gain the respect of her peers and superiors. She was promoted to the position of senior consultant, where she had the opportunity to deal with more complex immigration matters. As a senior consultant, Ayesha also gained extensive experience in dealing with the Department of Home Affairs.
In 2012 Ayesha joined an insurance company which focused on personal and commercial insurance for guest house owners. Fortunately, Ayesha decided to return to immigration and she joined Le Roux Attorneys Inc. in February 2013 as an immigration specialist.

Ayesha Casper

J.P. obtained BCom and LLB degrees from North-West University in 2015 and 2017.
He completed his articles in Pretoria and was admitted as an attorney in 2019.
J.P.’s professional interests include commercial law, family law and labour law.
He joined Le Roux Attorneys as a civil litigation associate in 2023, where he specialises in commercial and residential evictions.
J.P. proudly hails from Upington and loves the outdoors.

Samantha Bedrick obtained her LLB degree from Stellenbosch University in 2019. During her studies, she gained hands-on experience in immigration law as an immigration assistant at a well-known South African immigration services provider.
She completed her articles in April 2023, primarily working in litigation, where she handled a wide range of legal matters.
After being admitted as an attorney, she expanded her expertise in immigration law, joining Le Roux Attorneys Incorporated in 2023 as an associate attorney.
Samantha specializes in immigration law, providing strategic legal advice and assisting clients with temporary and permanent residency applications.
In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at animal shelters and spending time outdoors.

Samantha Bedrick

Robyn obtained her BSc degree in Sport Science with Physiology from Stellenbosch University in 2019 and her LLB from the same university in 2022.
While at Stellenbosch she volunteered at the University Law Clinic, assisting deserving people with legal advice on a pro bono basis.
Robyn joined the civil litigation department of Le Roux Attorneys in 2023.
In her spare time she enjoys running, playing basketball and fostering shelter animals.

Robyn Kymdell

Ibtesaam Karra matriculated in 2012 from Darul Islam Islamic High School. She started her working career in 2013 at the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, initially on a volunteer basis and there after she was appointed as an intern. During this time she was also studying on a part-time basis at the College of Cape Town towards her Certificate and Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Business Management. She is in the last lap of completing her Diploma as she is completing her practical assessment. The next phase of her career began in July 2015, where she was employed as Junior Immigration Consultant at Le Roux Attorneys Inc. It is very different from the public sector but she is learning so much and thoroughly enjoying her experience there. Her goal for the future is to study part-time towards her qualification as a Certified Technical Financial Accountant.

Ibtesaam Karra

Ezelle received her National Diploma in Journalism from the Cape Town Peninsula University of Technology in 2012. She went on to work for one of South Africa’s leading media houses.
After becoming a mom, she decided to make a career change and joined the Le Roux Attorneys team in 2016.
With the skills learnt during her time as a journalist, her hard working and passionate nature and her people skills, she excels in her position as a Front of House Receptionist.
Ezelle also assist the attorneys with various immigration litigation and civic matters.

Ezelle Beukes

Brandon matriculated from Wynberg Boys’ High School in 1997.
He worked in various sectors in London, UK for more than 10 years. He has travelled extensively and takes an interest in geography, politics, people and their cultures.
Since returning to Cape Town, Brandon has worked in South African immigration for more than 9 years. He has extensive knowledge of visas and permitting, and of working with the Department of Home Affairs and South African missions and embassies abroad.
In his spare time, he is an avid outdoorsman (and indoor sports watcher) and foodie. He loves the Western Cape’s wines, with his current favourites being wines from Rainbow's End and Knorhoek Estate.

Samantha graduated with an LLB degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 2018 and completed her articles of clerkship at a Cape Town law firm specialising in Personal Injury Law and Medical Malpractice.
Samantha was admitted as an Attorney in 2021 whereafter she joined the Le Roux Attorneys Inc. team as a Litigation Associate. She practiced in civil litigation with a primary focus on commercial and residential evictions and was a qualified notary public.
Samantha was passionate about law. Her natural competitive drive and tenacity ensured the best possible outcome for her clients.
Samantha passed away in a car accident in February 2023. We honour her legacy
